JANUARY 31, 2022 – Made For One Another

Made For One Another

JANUARY 31, 2022
Daily Reading – Exodus 10-12 / Matthew 19:1-15

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 19:4-5 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In a day and age where there is controversy over whom should be biblically married, it appears to me Jesus made it abundantly clear.

The Pharisees came and asked was it lawful for a man to put away his wife. They were looking for a legal answer to a moral question. Jesus first clarified who it was that should be married. God made man for woman and a woman for a man. On that foundation, He answered them.

When man wants to re-write morality, it would do us well to first reference God’s Word. In the end, people may do as they like. However, we have no authority to change God’s Word to make it morally ok.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

When thinking on today’s issues, where do you find your ethical values? The world, or the Word?

JANUARY 29 & 30, 2022 – God Protects His Church

God Protects His Church

JANUARY 29 & 30, 2022
Daily Reading – Exodus 7-9 / Matthew 18
Daily Reading – No Reading on Sunday

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

OK, I know God is everywhere. I also know that God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, continuously resides in every believer.

However, in today’s passage Jesus was looking ahead to the time He would not physically be on earth. He was talking about the authority and power He shared with His church. Jesus was letting us know there is a protection we gain through Him as we gather and become accountable to one another.

With so many leaving the church today, Satan must be doing a happy dance as he separates Christians from a real source of power and protection in their lives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

What body of Christ will you meet with this week
to see the power and protection of God in your life?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

JANUARY 28, 2022 – Hear Ye Him

Hear Ye Him

JANUARY 28, 2022
Daily Reading – Exodus 4-6 / Matthew 17

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

People today are information hungry. We have the news instantly and readily available from all over the globe. Literature that once was housed in huge Libraries are now reduced to gigabits and stored in a smart phone. We Skype, Facebook, Tweet, Instagram, and stay in touch instantly with friends in every part of the world. Yet the information we all need most was spoken in just three short words. “Hear ye Him.”

Today, with all that we have available to us, what we need most is to still, hear from Jesus. He was, and still is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Jesus is the first and the last of all we need to know.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Considering all the information you will receive today, what information will you hear from Him?

JANUARY 27, 2022 – Just Who Is He?

Just Who Is He?

JANUARY 27, 2022
Daily Reading – Exodus 1-3 / Matthew 16

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 16:13&15 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

When Jesus was alone with the disciples, He asked them two distinct questions.

First, who does the world say I am? Their answer was that He was a ghost of the past such as John the Baptist, Elias, etc. The world saw Him as anything but God.

Then He asked the more important question. Disciples, who do you say I am? Peter’s answer was not His name. It was who He was to Peter. His Messiah, his Saviour, and the Son of God.

The world will always see Jesus as less than He is because they do not know Him. He will be a good man or maybe even a prophet. What matters most is not what a lost world who does not know Him calls Him. What matters most is, who do you as a child of God see Him as?

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

In your heart as a believer today, just who is Jesus to you?

JANUARY 26, 2022 – So Many To Feed

So Many To Feed

JANUARY 26, 2022
Daily Reading – Genesis 49-50 / Matthew 15:21-39

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 15:33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

As the disciples looked out over the crowd following Jesus, they saw an impossible task. What Jesus was asking them to do, reason and logic said they did not have enough food to do it. At the same time, they did not want to tell Jesus no. So, they did the right thing. They asked Jesus, how can we possibly do such a thing? There are so many to feed. What Jesus answered them, also included them, and they did it.

As we look into a world today filled with sin, we might think to ourselves there is no way spiritually to feed so many souls. However, If God asked us to do it, He surely has a plan. We should be asking Him; how can we possibly do such a thing?

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

When He answers you, and it includes you,
will you do it?
