JULY 30 & 31, 2022 – I Pledge Allegiance

  I Pledge Allegiance

JULY 30 & 31, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 30-31 / Acts 23

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Mark 9:23-24 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In Act 23, I see in the soldiers, a quality all believers should have. Verse 23 says the captain, “…called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;” In verse 31 it says they did as it was commanded. Why? ALLEGIANCE!
People today say that they pledge allegiance to many things. We pledge allegiance to the flag and the nation for which it stands. Then when things get rough, you hear public figures saying they are moving to another country. As Christians, we pledged our allegiance to God when He saved our souls.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

So, when things get rough, do we run to, or away from God?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

JULY 29, 2022 – Do You Hear Him?

  Do You Hear Him?

JULY 29, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 26-29 / Acts 22

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

I believe the saddest verse in Acts 22 is verse 9. Here Paul re-tells of when God first spoke to him. He says all the men who were with him, “saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.” How sad, to be so close to the presence of God, and not hear Him.
I am afraid many people in the world today see the light of God as it glows in the hearts and lives of believers around them, yet they never hear the voice of God. They may see His light in the glow of church members, but never truly hear His voice. They read the words on the pages of scripture, yet never really hear His voice. Oh, friend listen, pray, ask God through the Holy Spirit to speak clearly to your heart daily.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you be still enough today and hear Him speak?

JULY 28, 2022 – The Missions Report

  The Missions Report

JULY 28, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 21-25 / Acts 21:18-40

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 21:18-19 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present. And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Paul had come back to tell the others what God had done through him on his missions’ journey. The believers listened with great curiosity to hear what God had done. Paul shared every detail, one by one of the works of the Lord and the people rejoiced to hear it.
Today, we have Missionaries all over the world. Ambassadors of Christ, and also Ambassadors of the church, going into all the world to preach gospel of our loving Saviour. If we knit our hearts to theirs in prayer, then reading the letters of report and seeing these missionaries in person when they come back brings great joy as we hear what God is doing through these faithful friends

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you lift a missionary to the Lord in prayer
and join your heart to theirs today?

JULY 27, 2022 – Words Of Grace

  Words Of Grace

JULY 27, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 17-20 / Acts 21:1-17

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Paul, in his departure from the elders of Ephesus says, I am leaving you in very good hands. Actually, what he is saying is I am leaving you in GOD’S hands and with His handbook for life. His implication was, not only do they have God watching over them, but also God’s words of grace to guide them.
The “word of his grace” that Paul speaks of are the same words of grace we find in our Bible’s today. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. This grace is not only our foundation of eternal hope, but also our way of life here on earth. This love of God will help build us up and draw us close together with other believers. Open the book of love and listen to God’s words of grace today.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Are you listening for the voice of God?

JULY 26, 2022 – What Day Do We Meet On?

What Day Do We Meet On?

JULY 26, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 13-16 / Acts 20

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

There has long been a debate on when the church of today should meet. Some say, we are to meet on the Sabbath Day ordained in the Old Testament. This would mean Saturday would be the day to gather and worship. Still, a good majority of churches meet on Sunday. However, just because they are the majority does not make them right. So, what is the right answer?
Well, the reason most churches gather on Sunday is found in today’s text. It says the disciples came together on “the first day of the week.” Sunday is also the day that our Lord arose from the tomb. There is nothing wrong with worshiping on Saturday, or any day for that matter. Yet each week we gather not only to fellowship, but also to celebrate the day Jesus rose for us.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you meet with a Church this week?
