JULY 25, 2022 – Where Real Wealth Lies

  Where Real Wealth Lies

JULY 25, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 9-12 / Acts 19:21-41

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 19:24-25 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen; Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

All too often, we find men and women who are like old Demetrius in Acts 19 alive and well today. He was worried that if people believed in Christ, his wealth and that of the community might be in danger. That if a person is saved, they might quit buying things he sells. He sold idols, but it could be alcohol, pornography, or anything offensive to God. I pray that would be true.
The problem is that people today, like Demetrius, do not understand where real wealth lies. You can have all the money in the world and end up eternally in Hell. Mark 8:36 says; For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Even earthly goods are owned by God.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Ask yourself, who really owns, and is able to control everything?

JULY 23 & 24, 2022 – What Do You Value

  What Do You Value

JULY 23 & 24, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 5-8 / Acts 19:1-20

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 19:18-19 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Isn’t it amazing to see the men in today’s passage not only confessed their faith in Christ, but Acts 19:18 says they “shewed their deeds.” Verse 19 gives us an example. It says, they brought together things they knew were offensive to God and burned them. Things that had great earthly value, they destroyed. Why, because it offended God, whom they valued more.
Sometimes we need to take inventory of our lives and maybe get rid of some things. Not because they have no earthly value, but because they offend our God whom we value more. Don’t sell them to someone else to plague their lives, destroy them.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Have you examined the things you hold most valuable?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

JULY 22, 2022 – God Can Use You

  God Can Use You

JULY 22, 2022
Daily Reading – Job 1-4 / Acts 18

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 18:24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In Act 18, we read of a man named Apollos. He was teaching what he knew, but he did not have all the information. It appears from verse 25 he was teaching about the Lord all the way up to the baptism of John. He needed to hear the rest of the story. Yet, even with his lack of total knowledge, God was using him. When Aquila and Priscilla met him in verse 26, they taught him of the gospel, and God used him even more.
Do not be afraid to share what you know. When done from a heart of love for the Lord, God can use you. Still, never be afraid to learn even more. The more you understand the Word of God, the more effectively He can use you. Attend Sunday School, Services, be Discipled, and study God’s Word.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Apollos was used to open doors for Paul.
How might God use you?

JULY 21, 2022 – Are We Even Noticeable?

  Are We Even Noticeable?

JULY 21, 2022
Daily Reading – Esther 5-10 / Acts 17

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 17:13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

Paul and Silas had a way of stirring up things almost everywhere they went. When they shared the gospel of Jesus Christ, many people were saved, and lives and lifestyles were changed. So much so that the opposition sent people from miles away to campaign against them and even have them arrested if possible.
When reading this today I asked myself, are we as believers today doing enough? I mean, a few people stirred up things so much by sharing the gospel that these cities were concerned about things shifting in the actions and attitudes of those in these towns. The change scarred them.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

I just have to wonder, are we doing enough? Are we even noticeable?

JULY 20, 2022 – This Little Light Of Mine

  This Little Light Of Mine

JULY 20, 2022
Daily Reading – Esther 1-4 / Acts 16:25-40

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Acts 16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

In Acts 16 we find Paul and Silas in a dark and dingy prison. We know it was dark in there because the keeper of the prison in Acts 16:29 “called for a light” before he entered. Yet in the midst of the darkness, there was already a light the jailer did not see. Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, which shinned a spiritual light on who God was to them in their darkest situation. The prisoners with Paul and Silas heard them. Soon, the jailer saw that same light.
We too are called to be a light in this dark world. No matter how bleak things may seem, we can always find a reason to praise our God in heaven. Let’s be a light for someone else today.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Do I hear you singing? “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine.”
