DECEMBER 31, 2022 / JANUARY 1, 2023 Daily Reading – No Bible Reading Scheduled Today…
A NEW YEAR A NEW DEVOTION TO THE LORD:
In this new year we are still publishing our daily Devotions as the Lord allows. We plan once again to have a devotion on Monday – Saturday with a Sunday recap. Our new heading will be “A Moment For The Master.” (See the banner below) It is our prayer that you will once again take just a moment in your day to reflect on the glory of God and the goodness He blesses us with day by day.
If you are someone who has received our devotions by e-mail, and you have not signed up yet, let me urge you to do so. While our Daily devotions will be published here and on Facebook, they will no longer be sent out by us through manual e-mails. We have contracted with an E-mail service called “MAILPOET” All e-mails of the devotion will be handled through them. Many who have already been receiving it love the new easier to read format. It will still be sent directly to your e-mailbox as before. However, opting in and out of subscriptions will be handled by MAILPOET as well as the daily distribution…
WHAT YOU RECEIVE:
With your Re-Subscription you will receive the LIHW Daily Devotional that many of you have read for years.
DECEMBER 30, 2022 Daily Reading – Malachi / Revelation 22
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
I really do not know how it happened. It seems like just the other day I was a young man in my twenties, and today I woke up to see an old man in the mirror. It feels like just the other day my children ran through the house yelling and playing, now, they bring my grandchildren over to do that for me. My eyes are not as sharp, and things I did not even know I had, now creek, pop, and ache. I know some of you younger folks are laughing, thinking that is a long way off for me. I promise you; it happens sooner than you think.
For many the coming of Christ will be much like that. People think, “I have plenty of time.” Yet the bible says He will come quickly, sooner than we think.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Does the thought of Christ’s coming bring fear or great joy?
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
I love reading the, “No Mores” of Revelation 21 and 22. I especially like the “No More Tears.” I am one of those guys who does cry and get emotional at times. One thing that will tear me up is to see someone I care about tearing up too. People cry for many reasons. Some will cry at times of extreme joy from a heart of thanksgiving. However, most people will cry when something is wrong. When they are hurt, they cry. When given bad news or during times of sickness or sorrow, folks cry. Revelations 21:4 says NO MORE!
No more pain, sorrow, or sickness because sin that caused it is also “no more.” Sorry Tissue makers, you must find something else to do in heaven.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Doesn’t the thought of it bring a tear of joy to your eye?

Revelation 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
When we read the book of the Revelation of John and come to chapter 16, we find God’s wrath poured out on earth. Oh, how terrible it will be to face both the wrath of Satan toward man, and also the wrath of God. It will be an unbearable time on earth. Yet today’s verse says, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.” How can this be?
We need to remember that this entire book that we call the Bible is a love letter to all who will believe, and a warning to all who will not. The warning is as clears as when Noah was on earth, building the ark, and warning people of the pending danger of the flood. God is warning people to get into the ark of His love, Christ, before it’s too late.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Are we inviting people in?

Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
When I was a little boy, I had some clothes I wore on Sundays and others I wore at other times. On Sunday morning my mom would say, “Get cleaned up and put your good clothes on for church.” After church I would hear, “Take off your good clothes before you go out to play.” The clothes were considered special, and I only wore them on special occasions like church.
Someday I will be included at the marriage supper of the lamb. My good clothes for that day are already laid out and ready for me. Revelations 19:8 tells us “…the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.” I cannot go in my righteousness as it is soiled by sin. For my best, I will be clothed in the spotless righteousness of Christ.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Are your clothes laid out?
