Daily Reading – 2 Chron. 14-17 / Acts 6
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Acts 6:3-4 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
Today in the church, it seems increasingly difficult to find men who will step up to do the Lord’s work. OK, we must be honest, it is hard to get them to church. Then we wonder why our country is in the condition it is in. We need men to be Godly men, and wives to encourage them to be so. I wonder if today we could find seven men to fill the roles outline in Acts 6.
It reminds me of Abraham speaking to God about the destruction of Sodom when he said in Genesis 18:32 “And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.”
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
I wonder if we asked God,
“Lord, if for seven?”
Would He find seven?
