Daily Reading – Ezra 4-7 / Acts 11
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
As we read today’s verse, we might get the idea this was the moment God included Gentiles into the group of people who could be saved. However, Gentiles could always be saved, just as the Jews. This was simply the moment the Apostles came to realize it.
Cornelius was a Gentile who feared God and God spake to him before this verse. In the Old Testament we read Ruth was a Moabite, which is not Jewish. She came to the realization and worship of the God of her mother-in-law Naomi. In fact, God spoke to Gentiles when He spoke to Adam and Eve as there were no Jews at the time. Gentiles and Jews are all loved by God and always have been.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Aren’t you thankful that Jesus died for all the children of the world?
