Except Ye Repent
APRIL 20, 2022
Daily Reading – Judges 12-15 / Luke 13:1-17
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Luke 13:2-3 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
There is a teaching in some churches today called the “Grace Movement.” The belief is that it is by Grace you are saved and nothing else. While I do believe Ephesians 2:8 when it says, “For by grace are ye saved”, the next two words say, “through faith.” It is our faith in Jesus who died on the cross to pay the price for our sin that saves us. Not our faith in Jesus, that He was Jesus. If that were true, He would not have had to die.
Jesus did not die to free you from sin so you could remain in your sin. To repent means to turn away or turn around. Friend, “Except ye repent,” turn away from your sin and to Jesus, you will die in your sin. Jesus and sin are not in the same place. Our verse today says, “ye shall likewise perish.”
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Are you walking toward Jesus, or toward Sin?
