JULY 13 & 14, 2022
Daily Reading – Psa. 42-47 / Rom. 5
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
I meet people all the time who somehow believe they need to clean up their lives before they can be saved. They think they must quit drinking, smoking, drugs, cussing, or something before God would accept them. Even worse are those who accept Christ as Saviour, and then try to work to keep themselves saved. Hey folks, we will never be good enough to be saved.
What a joy to know that in Romans 5 it says God loved us so much, that even while we were still in our sin, Christ died for us. Once we accept Christ, then God begins the cleansing process. I like the fishing analogy I heard about winning people to the Lord. It went; “we catch them, God cleans them.”
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
I am so glad we don’t have to pre-qualify people, aren’t you?
WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:
On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.
