APRIL 30 & May 1, 2022 – Do You Want To See Jesus

Do You Want To See Jesus

APRIL 30 & May 1, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 14-15 / Luke 19:1-27
Daily Reading – No Reading on Sunday

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 19:3-4 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass
that way.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

“Zacchaeus was a wee little man a wee little man was He. He climbed up in a sycomore tree for the Lord he wanted to see.” Most children who have gone to Sunday School have sung this little song. One thing that sticks out to me in today’s passage and the song is that Jesus was coming, and he wanted to see him.
For many people, the idea of Jesus coming by is a sobering one. If they found out that He was coming to their house, there would be some cleaning up to do. Friend, Jesus already sees what is in your house. Even more important, He sees what is in your heart.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

If you heard Jesus was passing by, would you run to get a better view, or try to hide some things from His view?
Are you ready to meet Jesus?

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

On Sundays, we encourage you to attend your local church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then, when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.

APRIL 29, 2022 – They Knew He Knew

They Knew He Knew

APRIL 29, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 12-13 / Luke 18:31-43

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 18:34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

The disciples in this passage heard Jesus speak, understood His words, but did not fully comprehend the meanings of what He said. Nevertheless, they continued to follow Him. Why? They knew He knew.

Over years of reading and studying scripture, I have found one thing to be true, I am still learning. I have read the entire bible yearly for many years. With every reading, I learn more about God’s Word than I knew before. I have never let the parts I did not totally grasp stop me from growing by what I did understand.
I am so glad I never quit before God revealed the next great thing to me. I know He knows, and always look forward to what He will teach me next.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Have you committed in your heart not to quit on God too soon?

APRIL 28, 2022 – Mission NOT Impossible

Mission NOT Impossible

APRIL 28, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 9-11 / Luke 18:1-30

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 18:26-27 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

As a young boy, I watched a TV show called Mission Impossible. Each week a special team would be given a task that seemed impossible and asked if they would accept the mission. They always accepted and by shows end, they found a way to tackle the problem.
Man’s most impossible task is dealing with eternity when we die. There is a sin debt we cannot pay, yet payment must be made. When we look at earthly goods as payment, we soon realize things cannot buy salvation. Nor can good works or prestige secure our place in heaven. Yet God made a way, through faith in Christ, to save us. God made what seemed impossible, NOT Impossible.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Will you accept the mission of telling people salvation is possible?

APRIL 27, 2022 – Not Without, Within

Not Without, Within

APRIL 27, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 5-8 / Luke 17

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 17:20-21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

What are the United States of America? Is it the mass of states that border one another? No, Hawaii and Alaska are part of the USA, but do not touch the others. In reality it is more than just land mass, the people make up the country. What good is a country without people.
Just as a church is not a building. A Church is a fellowship of like-minded people, called together by God to serve the Lord in a particular place.
The Kingdom of God will also be a place. However, today it is made up of individuals who have sworn their allegiance to the King of this Kingdom. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Do you have a heavenly citizenship today?
Can you sing,
“This world is not my Home, I’m Just a passing through,”
and mean it?

The Sermon From Hell

APRIL 26, 2022
Daily Reading – 1 Samuel 2-4 / Luke 16:18-31

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Luke 16:27-28 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

What will be happening in Hell? It will not be a party. No one will be sitting around swapping old stories. The bible says it will be torment such as we have never experienced before. It will also be a place in which none who are there, will want anyone else to come to.
In today’s passage In Luke 16 the rich man begged, please send Lazarus to my father’s house to warn my brothers so they do not come here. What a joy it is for us as believers to know we’ll never be there. What a sad and sobering thought it is to think that some whom we know will be. The sermon from Hell is simple, please tell my brothers. Dear friend, that is a sermon we must remember.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Who might you tell today?
