Missing God’s Best Gifts

Daily Reading – Exodus 13-14 / Matthew 19:16-30
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Matthew 19:30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
Once at a church I was in the leader asked the group if someone would read a passage of scripture for the class. An older gentleman raised his hand. He was not dressed very well, smelt of cigarettes, was not shaven and his hair was a mess. Looking at him, my first thought was, oh no, this passage has a lot of big Hebrew names with which this poor old guy is really going to struggle. Then he opened his mouth and read with a beautiful loud clear tone, pronouncing every word with distinction. I was immediately ashamed of my thoughts toward him and asked God to forgive me.
How many times do we, not meaning to, judge someone on appearance and form a wrong opinion?
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Could we be missing the best gifts from God?
