Daily Reading – Genesis 24 / Matthew 8

WHAT GOD HAS SAID:

Matthew 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

WHAT I HAVE SEEN:

   People love to feel special. To be recognized as chosen or elect. The Jews thought that way, as they in fact were God’s chosen people.

    However, in today’s verse we hear Jesus telling a gentile, he would sit in the Kingdom of Heaven. Not only him, but also many like him would get in, and many of the Jews would not.

    How great it is to know that in God’s eyes everyone is special. I like the phrase, “at the foot of the cross the ground is level.” What got the man in today’s passage into the Kingdom is the same thing that gets all people in. No matter the race, denomination, or gender, faith in Christ is the Key that opens the gates to heaven.

WHAT DO YOU SAY:
