With A Tender Touch

Daily Reading – Genesis 35-37 / Matthew 12:1-37
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
Matthew 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
Have you ever heard the phrase, “You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar?” Solomon said it this way in Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
This is the principal Jesus used in His ministry as well. One rough touch on a bruised reed will break it. Smoking flax was the wick of a lamp when it had no more oil, and the embers of a flame could be snuffed out if handled wrong. Jesus, with tender love and skill will uplift the broken and weak and kindle a flame with the oil of the Holy Spirit in lives even today.
We too must be gentle with the tender hearts, the bruised lives, and a flame barely burning that are brought our way.
WHAT DO YOU SAY:
What soft word or kind gesture might we share
to give people a new, real life?
