Who Can Praise Him?

MARCH 13 & 14, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Psalm 66:8O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

I have heard people who make no claim to being saved say, “well praise God,” following times when it seemed trouble had been averted. Whether they even realize it or not, they are actually taking the name of the Lord our God in vain. You see to praise God, or as it is stated in today’s verse “bless our God,” is saying you believe that there is a God, and that the blessings you just received came from that God. However, those who do not truly know God as their Saviour are acknowledging God as the source of their blessing, all the while living a life that rejects Him, His Son, His authority, and His salvation.

When we received Jesus Christ as our salvation, the veil of sin was lifted, and true worship and praise are directed toward God. Until someone has received Him as his or her Saviour, it is vain to praise a God in whom someone has not placed his or her faith. So, I would ask, how can a person who denies God, denies His Son Jesus, denies His free salvation, denies His power, denies His authority, and denies His grace, turn around and truly praise Him.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

John 4:22a & 23-24 “Ye worship ye know not what: … But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Thank God today that you can worship and praise Him, because the veil of sin has been done away with by our Saviour Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and worthy of all praise.

WHAT TO DO ON SUNDAY:

There will not be a Daily Devotion sent out on Sundays. Instead we encourage you to attend your church and listen intently to what God has prepared in the heart of your Pastor. Write down all the scriptures he uses in that message, then when you get home re-read those passages for today’s reading. God has given to your Pastor exactly what He desires for you on that day.
