Forgive And Live

NOVEMBER 30, 2021

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

    God has just told us in this little verse that He is going to do something we would imagine impossible for Him to do. He is going to, “not know” something. However, God knows everything. He knows all the past, the present, and all the future, which we know nothing of yet. However, here He tells us that He will not remember any of our sins anymore. They are all gone from His super giant all-knowing memory. How can this be?

    There is only one answer. It is only possible because He chooses to forget our sins. He has made a choice not to remember our faults and failures. He has truly forgiven us. He will never bring those things up on our account again. The precious blood of the Lamb of God, His Son Jesus Christ, pays for them and our sin debt has been wiped clean. Oh, what a wonderful promise God has written in such a few words. All our sins have been washed away from our account by the love, grace, and the will of God.

    When others hurt us, God asks us to do as He has done. We are to make a choice to forgive. This means we are to make a conscious decision not to hold the sins of someone else toward us to their account. Yes, this can be hard to do. However, if God can forgive us for everything and make it as if it never happened, should we not also forgive one of His creations when He asks us to? The answer again is YES.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

    Forgiving people frees us from carrying around a lot of the baggage of hurt and resentfulness. Let’s just give all the pain and hurt to Jesus and let Him handle it. Forgive and Live.
