Tick Tock, Time Is Moving On

KEY FROM GOD’S WORD:

Job 7:1-2 Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:

THOUGHT ON GOD’S WORD:

    Tick – Tock, Tick – Tock. Time just keeps moving along. As it does, it takes us with it. There is no stopping time. No reversing time. No alterations in time. It just keeps moving moment by moment. God gives every person just so many hours on this earth and then… time is up.

    As we get older, we are sort of like the servant, watching as the sun begins to fade as it is going down. As it goes down, we can see our shadow fall longer and longer covering more and more ground and we know our work is almost done, and soon it will be dark.

    However, we also live as the hireling mentioned in our verse today. There is payment for our labor. Payment for our life lived out here on earth. A payment that is in direct proportion to how we lived our life while here. The question is, for what will you be rewarded? If you know Christ, your reward is waiting for you in heaven.

    Then, when work is done and we meet our Saviour, it will be a day when you will see the REAL SON shine in all His glory. Jesus will shine all around you and there will be no more shadows, as you are standing there in the presence of the Lord.

CARRYING THAT THOUGHT THROUGH THE DAY:

    The Bible also tells us in Romans 6:23 the wages or the reward for sin is death. On the day you pass from this earth, if you do not know Jesus as your personal Saviour, your just reward is eternal separation from the SON. This was your choice by not accepting Him as Saviour while on earth. However, Romans 6:23 also says the gift of God is eternal life. How you will face eternity is your choice. How will you see Jesus? Will Jesus be your Reward Bearer or your Eternal Judge? Just remember, Tick – tock, time is moving on.
