Daily Reading – 1 Kings 18-19 / John 8:1-30
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
John 8:6-7 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
There are many lessons to learn from this passage. One catching my attention is how these men who bring this woman to Jesus made nonstop accusations against her. It says Jesus acted as if He was ignoring them and stooped down to write on the ground, yet they just went on and on, asking over and over. I wonder if Jesus thought, “When will it ever stop?”
You need to know in life, you will always have the accusers. Someone trying to hinder your walk with God and destroy your testimony. If you have truly repented of something and asked God to forgive you, believe that He has. Turn to 1 John 1:9, read it, and believe it.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Why do we worry more about man’s destruction
than God’s construction of our lives?
