Daily Reading – 1 Chron. 1-2 / John 16:1-15
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
John 16:2-3 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
Today it would almost appear that everyone knows the scripture. It is used in movies as part of their scripts. Politicians use it to bolster poll numbers. Even religious hate groups will quote its content trying to use it against the church. The problem is, they may know the words, but they do not know the author.
Jesus warned the disciples in His day that these people were around. He said in John 16:3 “And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.” Well, as it says in Ecclesiastes 1:9, “…there is no new thing under the sun.“
How can this be changed? Only if they have a change of heart. Only if they come to know Jesus.
